Funeral services for Willis Ambrose Atchley, 68, a life time resident of Olney who died in a local hospital Friday afternoon were at 2 P.M. Sunday in First Baptist Church. Rev. Rick Erwin, pastor officiated.
A highway contractor and co-owner of A&A Contractors and A&A Equipment, he was born March 15, 1911 in Olney. He was married in Dallas to in 1951 to Dorothy Norman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the VFW, the Olney Rodeo Association, and the Downtown Men's Bible Class. He served in World War ll in the Seabees.
Survivors include his wife; a son, W.A. Atchley, Jr. of Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Mullins of Olney; five grandchildren; three sisters. Mrs. Nora Wright and Mrs. Mary Willard, both of Olney and Mrs. Oma Fitz of San Antonio; two brothers . Clifford Atchley of Graham and Paul Atchley of Olney.
Burial was in Restland Cemetery, under direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
