John Andrew Loftiss, 77, of Coldwater, Miss., formerly of Whitehaven, retired machinist for Richards Medical Co., died Saturday night at Baptist Hospital,-Desoto in Southaven after a short illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Memphis Funeral Home Union Chapel with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. He was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church, a past director of the oriental band of Al Chymia Shrine Temple, past master of Whitehaven Masonic Lodge, past patron of Whitehaven Order of the Eastern Star and past president of the North Mississippi Shrine Club. Loftiss, the widower of Dolly Perry Loftiss, leaves a daughter, Mrs. Dolly Magee of Southaven, a son, John Perry Loftiss of Coldwater; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Richerson, and a brother, Charles A. Loftiss, both of Memphis, three grandchildren and a great grand-daughter. The family asks that any memorials be made to Coldwater United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
