Bonita Lorraine Dixon, 69, of Holcombe passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at the Rusk County Memorial Nursing Home in Ladysmith.

Bonnie was born on Aug. 22, 1941, in the town of Ruby to Edward and Mildred (Luke) Bonn. She attended school in Holcombe graduating in 1959. She then worked in Eau Claire before being united in marriage to Albert Dixon on May 12, 1962. They moved to Ladysmith, where Bonnie began her banking career at Pioneer National Bank.

In 1969 they moved to Holcombe where she and Al owned and managed Ray's Supper Club in Holcombe. In 1973 she began working for Security State Bank/MidAmerica Bank North in Ladysmith for 25 years, after which Bonnie worked for the State Bank of Gilman to open the Holcombe Branch. She continued to manage both the Holcombe and Cornell branches before retiring in 2007.

Bonnie enjoyed sewing, cooking, refinishing furniture, traveling, crafting and her grandchildren.

She was active in the community, serving as president of the Jaycettes in Ladysmith, was treasurer of the Rusk County Cancer Society for 25 years, was the first Lake Holcombe Women's Club president, served as girl scout troop leader, and den mother for the cub scouts, and was as treasurer for the Holcombe Methodist Church for many years.

Bonita is survived by: her husband Al Dixon of Holcombe; children, Cynthia (William) Godin of Prescott, Dale (Cheryl) Dixon of Holcombe, Beth (Wade) Meddaugh of Holcombe; foster daughter Susan Hillestad of Waite Park, Minn.; grandchildren, Keith (Xing) Godin, Kyle Godin, Aaron Godin, Justine Bearrows, Ian Dixon, Eliot Dixon, Evan Dixon, Alex Dixon, Aubrey Meddaugh and Owen Meddaugh; sisters, June Hagen of Cocoa, Fla. and Kay (Duane) Diamond of Cornell; sisters-in-law, Carol Bonn of Holcombe, Myra Reynolds of Appleton and Ethel (Robert) Carpenter of Greenwood; brothers-in-law, John (Gloria) Dixon of Holcombe, William (Kathleen) Dixon of Holcombe and Gary Dixon of Cornell.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; and two brothers, Kenneth Bonn and Edward "Bud" Bonn, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 at the Holcombe United Methodist Church in Holcombe with Pastor Steve Scott officiating. Interment will follow the services in the Holcombe Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at the Holcombe United Methodist Church and also one hour before services Thursday at the Church.
