Albert Umphrey Dies in Eugene
Albert Umphrey, 88 years old, a pioneer of Oregon, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G.F. Skipworth, 1151 Charnelton street, last night.
Mr. Umphrey crossed the plain in 1858, from Iowa, and settled near Albany. In late years he had made his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Judge and Mrs. Skipworth.
Besides his daughter, he is survived by one son, E.L. Umphrey, of Albany.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the Branstetter chapel. Rev. J. Franklin Haas, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, of which Mr. Umphrey was a member, will officiate. Interment will be in the cemetery at Lebanon.
Mr. Umphrey was a member of the Masonic lodge and of the Lane and Linn county Pioneer association.
