Born to Adolf Dayton Fuchs, Sr. (1882-1957) & Georgia Belle Willerson Fuchs (1885-1968).

Lucy married Carlton Bradley Gammons (1931-2005) on June 9, 1956, in Wimberley, TX.

Two children:
• Carlton Bradley Gammons, Jr.
• Jennifer Gammons Hamlett

Lucy also has a marker at Cypress Mill Cemetery, where her parents are buried, Memorial# 66063219.

Mrs. Carlton B. Gammons, 83, nee Lucy Fuchs, of Fredericksburg, died Jan. 18, 2007, in McKinney.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Gammons was born Jan. 15, 1924, at Cypress Mill, the daughter of Adolf and Georgia Fuchs. She was married to Carlton B. Gammons in 1956. He preceded her in death in 2005.

A graduate of Johnson City High School, Mrs. Gammons attended the University of Texas and was a Navy WAVE in World War II.

Her husband was in the Air Force and they lived in many states and in the Philippines during his 31 years of military duty. They moved to Fredericksburg in 1990.

She was a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, the Helen Tainter Circle and was a volunteer with the Hill Country Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years.

Mrs. Gammons is survived by a son, a daughter and their spouses, Brad and Darla Gammons of Amarillo and Jenny and Jeff Hamlett of McKinney; six grandchildren, and a sister, Opal Schnelle, of Fredericksburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gammons was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, including Thomas Fox, Albert Fuchs, A.D. Fuchs and Myra Nagel.

Memorials may be made to the HCMH Auxiliary or the Fredericksburg United Methodist Helen Tainter Circle.
