Mary R. McGarvey, 82, of Wyoming, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at Oakwood Health Care Center in Kewanee. Born Jan. 23, 1916, in Speer to Joseph and Florence Colgan Shane, she married Kenneth O. McGarvey on Nov. 22, 1941, in Wyoming. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth of Williamsville and Stephen and David, both of Wyoming; two daughters, Mary Ann McGarvey of Peoria and Joyce Dresch of Lafayette, Ind.; two brothers, Maurice Shane of Staten Island, N.Y., and Edmund Shane of Wyoming; and four sisters, Delores Donovan of Wyoming, Joan Sendelbach and Helen Sendelbach, both of Henry, and Ann Donovan of Chillicothe. Four brothers, one sister and one grandson preceded her in death.
