Mildred Catherine Crawford, 79, Topeka, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at a local hospice house because of complications from a stroke.

Mrs. Crawford graduated from Topeka Catholic High School in 1940. She worked as an office manager for the 7-Up Bottling Co. for 19 years.

She was born May 6, 1923, in Topeka, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Andes Ingenthron.

Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Moose Lodge, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society.

She married Herbert Poort. They divorced. She married Donald Crawford on Oct. 1, 1975, in Las Vegas. He survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Rene Poort, Topeka, Herbert Poort, Las Vegas, and Mark Poort, Hoyt; a daughter, DeAun Weber, Topeka; two brothers, Harold Ingenthron and John Ingenthron, both of Topeka; a sister, Elizabeth Dennis, Topeka; four stepchildren; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Crawford will lie in state from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where an altar society rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a parish rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.
