Obituary:
John Ingenthron, 73, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 19, 2005. He was born April 26, 1931 in Topeka, the son of George and Elizabeth Andes
Ingenthron.

John grew up in Topeka, attending Sacred Heart School and Hayden High School. He entered the United States Navy in 1951 and became of member of the Ancient Order of The Deep May 31, 1953. He served as a tailgunner in the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge in 1954.

Upon returning to Topeka, he opened several businesses including the Rocket Tavern, the Party Shack and the Pizza Parlor. He was an honorary member of the North Topeka Businessmen's Club. He joined The Topeka Fire Department in 1960 and was a member of The International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 83. He was one of the original members of the flying squad. He was promoted to Captain in 1980 and retired in 1986.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He married Valerie Nicholas Ingenthron August 2, 1958. She survives of the home. John was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Stier, Helen Abate, and Millie Crawford, one brother Raymond Ingenthron and a son, Bill Ingenthron.

Survivors include 2 sons, George, his wife Yessica and their son Jorge Ingenthron, Bocas Del Toro, Panama and Joseph Ingenthron, Topeka, 6 daughters, Cathy and Doug Bluthardt and their children Shelby, Burlingame and their son Tom and Trish Martin, Chris and Mike Leiker and their children Lindsey and Lori, Carolyn Ingenthron, Debbie and Gary Conwell and their children Sarah and her husband Greg Coulter, Jessica, Matt, Justin, Kelly, Kaylee and Taylor, Liz and Darren Abbey and their children Lauren and Tegan and Jenny and Chris Walker and their children Griffon and Gannon all of Topeka. John has two great grandchildren, Alexia and Racy Coulter. A brother Harold Ingenthron and sister Liz Dennis, both of Topeka.

A mass of resurrection will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Sacred Heart Church, Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
