Edwin Wayne Brown, 88, went home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 06, 2010. He was born July 3, 1922 in Griffin, Texas and passed away at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

Edwin attended Lon Morris College in Jacksonville and served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees stationed in the Aleutian Islands and South Pacific during World War II. He was owner of a produce shipping business, packing and shipping tomatoes nationwide under the label "Kid Brown Produce" in the 1940's. He was in the building business, land development, cattle ranching, banking and manufacturing business throughout his life.

An avid quail hunter, he enjoyed the field trial sport having owned several notable champion pointers which gave great pleasure to the Brown Family and all who loved the sport. He was imaginative, confident, optimistic, and gave liberally from the blessing he had received.

He was a member of Hill Creek Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas.

In addition to his parents, George and Sallie Brown, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn, his brothers Alan and Hayden Brown and sister, Pauline Bostick.

Edwin is survived by his daughter Sally Keeney and his son, Wayne Brown and wife Laura, of Tyler. Beloved grandsons, Wynn Brown of Fort Worth and Turner Brown of Dallas, two brothers Hulon Brown and wife, Betty, of Jacksonville and Glenn Brown and wife, Peggy, of Kerrville.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Roland, Alan, Marshall and Roy Brown, Von Dawson and good friend, Ralph Lindsey.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Griffin Cemetery Tabernacle with the Rev. Dr. Hal Brunson officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville, Texas.
