Mrs. Dora Atkinson Birdsong, 86, High Point, died Sunday Eldon.
She was born Dec. 6, 1887, at High Pint, daughter of James and Susan Miller Atkinson. On Dec. 23, 1954, she married Herman Birdsong, who survives.
She was a member of the Olean Christian Church, the Community Extension Club at High Point and served as Democratic Committeewoman for many years.
She taught school at High Point, McGirk and other area schools until 1944. Then she went to work in the Division of Workers Compensation in Jefferson City, and retired in 1957.
Survivors include: Two step-daughters, Mrs. Nina Williamson, Kansas City and Mrs. Norma Gamble, Aurora; and one step grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Williams-Woodard Funeral Home, California, with the Rev. Gilbert Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the Olean Cemetery.
