Daniel Brown Boultinghouse, who was born on 28 Nov 1828 in Illinois, son of Daniel and Sarah Boultinghouse. Daniel Brown died on 14 Feb 1864; he was 35.

On 11 May 1848, when Daniel Brown was 19, he married Mary Jane Russell. They had the following children:

Andrew J., b. 28 Mar 1849, d. 9 Jan 1862.
Lewis C., b. 24 Nov 1850, d. 9 Feb 1859.
Sarah Elizabeth.
John B., b. 23 Nov 1854, d. 9 Feb 1859.
Louisa S., b. 25 Oct 1856, d. 7 Jan 1862.
Daniel R., b. 28 Apr 1858, d. 8 Jan. 1862.
Zechariah, b. 3 Nov 1860, d. 16 Dec 1862.
Daniel Josephus.

The family settled on a homestead located on the south side of the North Fork of the San Gabriel River. In 1974 the cemetery located on the property was moved by the Corp of Engineers to the Smithwick Cemetery in Burnet County, Texas, due to the building of a dam on the river, possible Lake Georgetown in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. There they joined other Boultinghouse relatives buried there.

Mary Jane and the above children, with the exception of Sarah Elizabeth and Daniel Josephus, were moved to the Smithwick Cemetery along with six slaves of which the name of only one, Columbia, were known; and a family friend by the name of +Mr. Hogue. In the Smithwick Cemetery they were interred in two rows with the first row containing the whites and the second row the six slaves.

In the Chisholm Trail, Vol. 17, No. 1, 1997 it was reported that Daniel joined the army (Confederate) in the summer of 1863. He died, cause not reported, and was buried in Galveston, Texas.
