Randall Gary Calloway
MONROE -- Mr. Calloway, 71, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2010. He was born in Manassas, Tattnall County, Georgia on October 28, 1939 to Raford Randall and Letha Bell Blocker Callaway. Growing up on a small rural farm forged his hard work ethic, love of family and community.
Gary served in the Army Reserves before becoming a professional truck driver for 45 years. He loved having his family around him and teaching his kids 'how he used to do it.' He was an avid fisherman, gardener and cook. Gary loved growing vegetables, feeding his family and friends and fellowship time with all. His zest for life was matched by his outgoing personality and his ability to never meet a stranger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
