Funeral services were held yesterday at 2 p.m. for George W. Riddle, 69, of Route 3, Monterey, at the Shipley church, Cookeville, following a prayer service at the Goff Funeral Home. Burial was in the Shipley Cemetery with Rev. J. H. Roberson and Rev. C. E. Clay officiating.
Mr. Riddle, a retired farmer, died at the Cookeville General Hospital Saturday following an extended illness.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nannie Johnson Riddle; two sons, James Riddle, Monterey and Red Riddle, Hilham; a daughter, Clema Rose Copeland, Nashville; three sisters, Estelle Farris and Gertrude King, both of Cookeville and Minnie Cleland, Ridgeland, SC; three brothers, Hollis Riddle, Jack Riddle and Henry Riddle, all of Cookeville; 20 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
