Mr. Charles Beth, formerly a gardener living west of Argentine, Kansas, and was well known throughout Wyandotte County, died Monday, June 24, 1895, at Trinidad, Colorado. His death was caused by consumption. The deceased was a brother of William Beth and Albert Beth, and was well known to old Fort Scott, Kansas, settlers.

Mr. Beth served during the war as a Private in Company E of the Sixth Kansas Cavalry, and was a member of Captain Kingscott Post No. 463 G.A.R. of Argentine at the time of his death. He joined his unit on March 7, 1862, and mustered out of service on May 10, 1865, at Leavenworth, Kansas.
