Levi E Arterberry, 67, of Maquoketa, died Friday, February 7, 1958, in the Veteran's Hospital at Iowa City, after several years illness. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 pm in the Carson Funeral Home. Rev Milton Nothdurft of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in East Iron Hill Cemetery.
Mr Arterberry was born October 12, 1890, in Russell, Illinois, son of Alex & Josephine Walker Arterberry.
He was married September 15, 1919, to Erma McCloy in Maquoketa. He moved to this area as a young man & served in W W I. He had been a barber.
He leaves his widow, 5 sons, Orville of Fulton, Iowa, LeRoy, Levi JR, & Robert, all of Maquoketa, Ronald in the armed services, 2 daughters, Mrs Lois (Don) Garien & Mrs Muriel (Jack ) Carr, both of Maquoketa, a brother, Ben of Maquoketa, a sister, Cora Manning of Fulton, Iowa, & 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, his twin Phoebe Manning & Minnie Latham,& a Brother Thomas Arterberry.
