Mrs Clyde (Phoebe) Manning, 64, of near Maquoketa, died Tuesday, November 16, 1954, in Jackson COunty Public Hospital. Services will be at 2 pm Thursday in the Carson Funeral Home. Rev M H Nothdurft will officiate. Burial will be in East Iron Hill Cemetery beside her twin brother Levi Arterberry.

The former Phoebe Jane Arterberry was born October 12, 1890, at Tiskilwa, Illinois, to the late Alexander & Josephine Walker Arterberry. On November 5, 1910, she was married to Clyde Manning.

Surviving are the husband, 5 sons, Edelman, Lloyd, & Lester of Maquoketa, Donald of Oxford Junction, Clyde Jr in the service in Maryland, 4 daughters, Mrs Nettie McCoy of Clinton, Mrs Hazel McPherson, Mrs Camilla Harkins, both of Maquoketa, Mrs Doris (George) Cross of Sabula, 25 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, 2 brothers, Ben & Levi Arterberry of Maquoketa, a sister, Mrs Cora (Harvey) Manning of Maquoketa. She was preceded by her parents, a brother & a sister.
