"Death of Louis E. Beall
Former Washington Resident dies Near Uniontown, Pa.
Special to the Washington Post.
Uniontown, Pa Nov 29- Louis Erwin Beall 68 years old died this morning at The Gables, his home, near Uniontown, after a long illness He was a resident of Washington for about fifteen years prior to 1890, having served in the Postoffice Department from 1877 to 1883, after which he was acting chief of the bureau of contracts and supplies in the Navy Department, which position he held until 1890, when he returned to Uniontown.
In December 1884 Mr. Beall married Harrit [sic] Morgan Clark daughter of the late Edward Clark of Brooklyn. The wedding being an event of the Washington season. Mrs. Beall and two children, Priscilla McKaig and Edward Clark Beall, survive. Mr. Beall was a descendant of the founders of Georgetown and Cumberland, Md, and was a member of the Maryland Society of the Cincinnati. He was also a member of the Metropolitan Club of Washington. Funeral services will be held Friday at Uniontown."

Louis Erwin Beall was the son of Isabella (Frey) and Louis Dunn Beall of Allegany County, Md, a desc, of Thomas Beall who laid out the settlement of Cumberland. His paternal grandmother was Massey Dunn daughter of a prominent physician, Dr. Lewis Dunn who died in Frankfort (Fort Ashby), Hampshire County, VA now Mineral County, WV in 1834. His wife at the time of his death was Rachel Clawson Dunn.

Louis Erwin Beall married Harriette Morgan Clark on 4 Dec. 1884 in Washington D. C. where he held a post with the Post Office Department. After a stint in Washington, D. C , they returned to Uniontown and he became the manager of the Hygeia Ice Company.
