Last Rites Held Here Thursday For Mrs. Sophie Allen
Last rites were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian church, Remington, for Mrs. Sophie B. Allen, 74, who was found dead in the living room of her home here Thusday by a neighbor. Rev. Cecil Atkinson officiated at the services and burial was made in the Remington cemetery.
Born in Livingston county, Ill., October 22, 1883, she was married in 1912 to M.H. Allen who died in 1951. The couple moved here from Granite City, Ill., 20 year ago. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Presbyterian church and Order of Eastern Star.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bressner.
Surviving are two sister, Mrs. Ella Stitz and Mrs. Edith Taber, and three brothers, Herbert, Sam and Charles Bressner, all of Remington.
