Samuel Bressner, 78, Passes Away
Samuel I. Bressner, 78, of Route 1, Remington, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's hospital, Evansville, after an illness of one month. He had been in failing health since March.
A native of Livingston county, Illinois, Mr. Bressner moved to Remington as a boy and had lived there ever since. He farmed southwest of Remington before his retirement in 1964.
In 1918, he was married in Remington to Eunice Dickinson, who died in 1949.
A World War I veteran, he is survived by a son, Earl of Evansville; a sister, Mrs. Ella Stitz and a brother, Charles, both of Remington; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Bressner. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Stitz funeral home, Remington, Rev. Richard Fox officiating. Interment was in Remington cemetery.
