LOGSDON
Elsie Bell Conner Logsdon was born in Hartford, Missouri on May 15, 1900 and departed this life on November 5, 1985 at the Chariton Manor at the age of 85 years, five months and 20 days. She was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Logsdon Triplett.
She was married to Harry Gillespie in 1917 and to this union one daughter, May Irene, was born.
She was married a second time to Earnest Earl Conner on September 13, 1930. They were blessed with two children, Ruth Maxine and Ernest Dwight. Seven years after Mr. Conner's death in 1963, she married Arley Logsdon.
She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Ruth and son-in-law, Hollis Baker of Chariton, a son, Earnest Conner of Des Moines, Iowa; a step-daughter, Mary Sparks of Des Moines; two step-sons, Neil Conner and wife Lavonne of Mobile, Ala. and William Conner of Spirit Lake, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Stella West of Queen City, Missouri; beloved and loving nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: husbands; a daughter, May Moore; stepson, Marion Conner; three grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Barnhart, Ethel Wild and one brother, Norman Triplett.
Mrs. Logsdon spent most of her life in Chariton. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was always her first consideration. She was a loyal friend and a good neighbor.
She accepted the Lord as her saviour as a small child. Mrs. Logsdon attended church faithfully until her health failed.
Services were held Thursday, November 7, 1985, at the Fielding Funeral Home, with Pastor Eugene Sparks conducting. Interment was at the Chariton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Deloss Crawford, Jim Williams, Cecil Pruett, Bill Norris, Dwight LaFollette and Charles M. Sparks.
