Funeral services for Mrs. Polly Chaffin Kirby, 78, widow of O. H. Kirby who died last Wednesday night were held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Harvey Garrison and the Rev. Critt Holman officiating. Burial was in the Double Springs Cemetery.
She had been a member of the Baptist Church for 53 years.
Survivors include five sons, Charlie Kirby of Everton, MO.; Harvey and Barney Kirby of Cookeville, Virgil and Fowler Kirby of Detroit; three daughters, Mrs. Claudie Brewington and Mrs. Willie Rippetoe of Cookeville, and Mrs. Carrie Davis, Elkhart, IN; three brothers Norl and Herod Chaffin, Detroit, and Henry Chaffin of Whitehouse; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Birdwell, Detroit and Mrs. Ova Yates, Clayton, N. M.; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
