Funeral services for Claiborn M. Chaffin, 75, were held Sunday afternoon at the Willow Street Church of Chirst. Carl Gossett and L. N. Moody officiated. Interment was in Double Springs cemetery.
Mr. Chaffin died Friday afternoon following a heart attack suffered a few hours earlier at the home of a son, Edgar Chaffin.
A native of Illinois, Mr. Chaffin was a former resident of Nashville, moving from there to Cookeville approximately 25 years ago. He was also a former school teacher of Jackson county, where he lived for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Edgar Chaffin, Cookeville, Charles Chaffin, Knoxville; three sisters, Mrs. Ova Aytes, Clayton, N. M., Mrs. Polly Kirby, Double Springs, Mrs. Nancy Birdwell, Detroit, three brothers, Herod Chaffin, Marietta, GA, Henry Chaffin, Whitehouse, TN and Carl Chaffin, Detroit.
