Funeral services will be held Sunday January 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Moise Angelle, Jr., age 79, who passed away Friday, January 12, 2007 at 1:45 p.m. at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. William Melancon, pastor of St. Peters Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Charlotte Jopling, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross and Battle Hymn of the Republic, and My Way.
Mr. Angelle was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. He was a Building Contractor and Horse Owner for over 40 years. He was a member of the Horseman Benevolent & Protective Association and Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association. Mr. Angelle was a veteran of the military, having served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed raising, breeding and racing Thoroughbred Race Horses and having drinks with friends.
Survivors include three sons, Dale Angelle and his wife, Tessie, Timmy Angelle and his wife, Gina, all of Carencro and Carl "Mo" Angelle and his wife, Cheryl, of Lafayette; one daughter, Tina Angelle Toups and her husband, Peter, of Lafayette; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and four sisters, Lou Stemmons, Lucille Villard, Lillian Trosclair and her husband Johnny all of Lafayette, Molly Domingue and her husband Fred of Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moise Angelle, Sr. and the former Elvidge Hollier Angelle; two brothers, Rodney Angelle and Antoine "Tan" Angelle, one niece, Dana Angelle and his former wife Jane Perkins.
Pallbearers will be Dale Angelle, Timmy Angelle, Carl "Mo" Angelle, Brock Angelle, Rodney Angelle, and Brent Angelle.
Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, Louisiana was is in charge of arrangements.
