Margaret Rector Expires Sunday

Markleville - Margaret Ellen Rector, 78, died Sunday night at 8 o'clock at Community Hospital, Anderson. She had been a patient there since last Wednesday night when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

Since the death of her husband, Ray Rector, on July 17, 1945, Mrs. Rector resided alone on their farm, three miles north of Markleville. She was born in Logansport, the daughter of George W. and Fanny Harlan Black. When she was four year old the family moved to a home on Pearl St., in Anderson.

She taught school in Adams Township in 1902 and 1903, and married Ray Rector on March 28, 1904, and they established their home near Markleville.

Her survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Florence) Moore, of RR 1, Middletown; Mrs. Robert (Eleanor) Abshire, RR 1 Middletown; three sons, Valorous C. Rector, Markleville; Maurice J. Rector, RR 1 Middletown, and Ralph H. Rector, 141 Nursery Rd., Anderson. She has 11 grandchildren including one grandson, Kent Rector, who is serving the Army overseas in Germany. She has four great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Robert O. Black, of Kendallville; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rector was a member of the Home Social Home Demonstration Club and Anderson Woman's Relief Corps. She also belonged to the Adams Township Farm Bureau and Markleville Brotherhood and Sisterhood.

Friends may call at the Valorous C. Rector Funeral Home in Markleville tonight after 7 o'clock. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. John K. Summers of the Ovid Community Church will be in charge assisted by the Rev. Edwin Helm of the Markleville Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery at New Columbus.
