George W. Black, age 79, 1433 Pearl street, died at 2 p. m. yesterday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ray Rector, Middletown rural route one. He had been seriously ill for seven weeks.
Mr. Black was born at Toronto, Canada, in 1863, the son of William and Margaret Wallace Black. His father was a civil war veteran. Mr. Black was a railroad employee during his early adult years and later he was employed in the storerooms of the Union Traction Company. He was a member of the Moose lodge at Mooseheart, Ill. His wife, Fannie Black died eight years ago.
The body was taken to the Valorous C. Rector funeral home at Markleville and will be returned to the daughter's home this evening. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Saturday but the place has not been determined.
Survivors are the daughter at whose home he died, and three sons, George W. Black, Jr., of Wilson, Pa., Robert Otis Black of Connersville, and James W. Black, Address unknown.
