Frank E. Burt Funeral Rites Are Held Here
Well Known Shepherd Man Dies from Effects of Stroke
Funeral services Frank Edward Burt, 78, well known Shepherd man were largely attended last Friday afternoon at Wright funeral home in Alma. Mr. Burt died the previous Wednesday morning at Smith Memorial hospital, from the effects of a stroke. He was taken to the hospital Monday morning, February 9. He had been to poor health a year.
Mr. Burt was born in Adrian July 1874, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Burt. He attended the schools of Gratiot county. He was married April 12, 1905, at Shepherd to Miss Nora Brown. Mr. Burt formerly was a conductor on the Ann Arbor Railroad for 12 years while residing in Owosso. They moved from Owosso to Shepherd in 1912 and he engaged in farming. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
The Rev. Harold Taber, pastor of the Shepherd Methodist church, officiated for the funeral and burial was in Riverside cemetery, Alma.
Pallbearers were: Harold Fairchild, Gus Micholovic, Percy Hamin, John Netzley, Ray Fisher and Roy Baker.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, Nora, are two brothers, Lee Burt and Fred Burt, both of Alma.
