William M. Ward died suddenly at 7:30 Tuesday morning at his home in Stockwell. Mr. Ward had just finished breakfast and was still seated at the table when he suffered a heart attack. His wife, on returning to the room, found her husband in a dying condition and he passed away before aid could be summoned. Dr. Harry J. Laws, coroner, was summoned and he pronounced death due to neuralgia of the heart. Mr. Ward was born in Butler county, Ohio, August 1, 1841, and served four years in the civil war, first as a member of the Ohio volunteers and later as a member of an Indiana volunteer company. He was a member of the old post of the G. A. R. at Stockwell and also of the Stockwell Methodist church. He was a blacksmith at Stockwell for many years preceding his death. The funeral is to be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00, from the Methodist church in Stockwell, Rev. A. L. Meredith officiating. Burial will be in Stockwell.
