Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, with Father Martin Leonards officiating, for Geston Joseph Venable, 79, of Rayne, who died at 9:20 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in the Rayne Guest Home.
Burial was in the St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Venable, Duson; three daughters, Kathleen McNeal, Effie, La., Wendy Venable, Crowley, and Linda Bourque, Duson; one son, Tony Venable, Duson; one brother, Aaron Venable, Duson; two sisters, Agnes Trahan, Lafayette, and Ann Jones, Orlando, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LaPearl and Louis Venable; one grandchild, Kelly Marie Breaux; one brother, Easton Venable; and one sister, Renee Faul.
He was a farmer and his hobby was fishing.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
