Funeral servies were held at 9:30 a.m. today (May 20, 1960) for Louis Venable, 70 of Scott.
Venable died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday (May 18, 1960)in New Orleans Hospital, following a long illness.
A native of Sunset, he was a retired farmer.
Services were held at St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the E. D. Melancon and Son Funeral Home in Carencro, Louisiana.
He is survived by four sons, Easton and Geston Venable, both of Bosco, Aaron Venable of Duson and Wesley Venable of Lafayettte; three daughters, Mrs. Clifford Faul and Miss Ann Venable, both of Opelousas and Mrs. Paul Trahan of Lafayette of Cankton and Dosita Venable of Marksville; three sisters, Mrs. Pelma Keddy of Lafayette, Mrs. George Savoy of Cankton and Mrs. Lester Johnson of Bosco, and 13 grandchildren.
