Obituary for Agnes Venable Trahan
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott, Louisiana, for Agnes Venable Trahan, 95, who passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her residence in Lafayette, in the presence of her daughter and her beloved niece.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM until time of services.

A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 1:15 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

Entombment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Mausoleum.

Reverend Gilbert J. Dutel, will conduct the funeral services.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Velma Trahan Cosper; her grandson, Johnny G. Cosper, Jr. and wife, Jackie; two great granddaughters, Millie and Chloe Cosper; her beloved niece, Kathleen Breaux and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Trahan; her parents, Louis and LaPearl Lavergne Venable; her siblings, Aaron Venable, Wesley Venable, Geston Venable, Easton Venable, Rena Venable Faul, and Ann Venable Jones.

Agnes was a loving mother and friend. She enjoyed spending time outside, tending to her garden. She didn't know a stranger and loved meeting new people. Agnes had many crafts, one of which was crocheting and sewing. She was a talented cook when she was able to. Her sweet dough pies and her old Cajun recipes will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be John Stephens, Mike Bourque, Keith Bourque, Shelley Landry, Jamie Hebert and William Hebert.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Trahan's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Trahan family to the nurses, staff and doctors of Heart of Hospice for their compassion, kindness and loving care given to Mrs. Trahan during her time of need.
