DIED
SCHENCK. - On Wednesday, Sept. 16, Mrs. Hannah Schenck aged 76 years. The deceased was born in 1808 in the state of Massachusetts, and moved when quite young to the state of New York.
At the age of eighteen she was united in marriage to Hendrick Schenck, with whom she lived until death separated them some 19 years ago. She moved to Michigan in 1842, and took her stand in that regiment of pioneers who dared to brave the dangers of pioneer life to secure a home for loved ones.
She is the mother of 13 children, eight of whom are still living, all in this state. She embraced Chrtstianity [sic] at the age of thirty-six, and with her husband united with the Free Will Baptist Church of Bennington, Wyoming county, N. Y. Since she has made her home in the state, she has not united with any church, but has frequently spoken of her belief in the gospel plan of salvation, and up to the very last spoke of her hope in the life beyond.
