Homer Astor Rogers, Jr., 65, of Vengeance Creek Road, Marble, died Sunday, March 8, 1992, in a Franklin hospital.

He was a native of Cherokee County. He was a World War II, US Navy Veteran and a member of the Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post # 96. He retired as general foreman of the Inland Division of General Motors in Vandalia, OH, He was a member of Maltby Baptist Church. He was a son of Lucy Queen Rogers of Marble, and the late Homer Astor Rogers, Sr.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Helen Marie Sturgis Rogers; a daughter, Gloria Jean Rogers Hatton of Dayton, OH, four brothers, Rev. Glenn Rogers of Clyde, Jimmy Rogers of Andrews, Buck Rogers and Kyle Rogers both of Marble; four sisters, Leuna Adams, Doris Adams and Joyce McColley all of Marble, and Margie Creason of Andrews; three grandsons and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 1992, in Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel, Andrews. The Rev. Clarence Martin officiated.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13, 1992, in the George C. Martin Funeral Home Chapel, in Dayton, OH. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Vandalia, OH.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 1992, at the George C. Martin Funeral Home in Dayton, OH.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the: American Heart Association, c/o Jo Ann Green, Wachovia Bank, P.O. Box A, Andrews, NC 28901.
