Brown Couple 50th Anniversary

Guy Brown and Olga Garrett Brown will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary January 15, 1980 with a reception from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Parkburg Community Center, Pinson, TN.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown are both retired. They have two children, Hazel Brown Boothe, Kenton, TN and Carl Wesley Brown, Tucson, AZ. They have nine grandchildren.
Hosting the event will be their children and families and the WMU women of their church, Parkburg Baptist Church, Pinson, TN. Friends and family are invited.

60th Wedding Anniversary Observed

On their 60th wedding anniversary, January 15, 1990, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brown, Pinson, TN were honored with a dinner at Western Sizzlin in Jackson, TN, hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Rev, and Mrs. W. Lamar Boothe of Ripley, TN. They also have one son, Carl Wesley Brown, Tucson, AZ, who was unable to attend.
Also present for the occasion were their granddaughter, Tena Boothe of Pinson, TN, grandson, Steve Boothe, great-granddaughter, Denise Boothe and Jeff Moody, all of Huntingdon, TN
The table in the private dining room was decorated with a honey-comb wedding bells centerpiece and a wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom and the number "60".
Steve read an article he had written about his memories of growing up with his "wonderful grandparents." Denise (9) had also composed a letter and read to her great-grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown were presented gifts. Everyone enjoyed the occasion.

Services for Guy Donovan Brown, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from Parkburg Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Holloman and Reverend Joe T. Naylor officiating. Burial will be in Parkburg Cemetery. George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown, a retired Bemis Mill employee, died Tuesday, January 12th, at the West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center.
He was born in Kensett, Iowa on December 27, 1904, to the late John Thomas Brown, Sr. and Emeline Virginia Iverson Brown. Moving to Tennessee at age 3, he lived most of his life in Madison County and was educated in the Madison County schools. Mr. Brown served in the U. S. Army for three years with the 29th Infantry at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He was a member of the Parkburg Baptist Church and had served his church faithfully over fifty years as a deacon.
Mr. Brown married Olga Estelle Garrett Brown on January 15, 1930. She preceded him in death on July 15, 1993. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Curtis Morgan Brown and by a sister, Lois Brown Wilson Cearly.
He is survived by a son, Carl W. Brown and wife Vera of Tucson, AZ; a daughter, Hazel Brown Boothe and husband Lamar of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Emily Boothe Ward of Evansville, IN, Susan Boothe Powell of Jonesborough, TN, Stephen L. Boothe of Huntingdon, TN, Michael Carl Boothe of Athens, GA, Tena Boothe Moody of Jackson, Craig Donovan Brown, Clayton Patrick Brown and Clifford Wayne Brown, all of Tucson, AZ; thirteen great-grandchildren and two brothers, Albert Brown of Jackson and Reverend John T. Brown of Olive Branch, MS.
Casketbearers to serve are Steve Boothe, Mike Boothe, Tom Ward, Jeff Moody, Tim Arnold and Randy Davis. Deacons of Parkburg Baptist Church will serve as honorary casketbearers.
The family will receive friends at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel today from 4:00 p.m, until 9:00 p.m.
The body will lie in state at Parkburg Baptist Church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
