MATH PEHAN DIES

Math Pehan passed away Monday, Aug. 6, in the home of his daughter Mrs. Jos. Tamble, after several months' illness from heart trouble and other complications.

Math Pehan was born in Germany February 24, 1847. He came to America at the age of six years, to St. Louis, where he remained for a few years. Later he went to Iowa, then to Wisconsin, and from there he went to Shakopee, this state, where he was united in marriage to Miss Christine Baumhofer in 1875. About forty-five years ago they came to Leaf Mountain, where they farmed for thirteen years. They later bought a farm northwest of Brandon, where they resided for several years and where they built a nice home. About eight years ago they sold their farm and moved into Brandon where he has since lived. There were thirteen children born to Mr. and Mrs. Pehan all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Mary Peggan and Mrs. Tina Guenther, and Henry of Waubun, Mrs. Annie Webb, John, Joseph and Frank, of Glentana, Mont., Math Pehan, Jr., Chisholm, Mrs. Prazak, of Millerville, Mrs. Bertha Lehn, Casper, and Mrs. Louise Tamble of Brandon and vicinity, besides thirty eight grandchildren.
