Her obituary appeared in the 'Martinsburg Herald' 14 May 1909, stating she died on Monday, which would have been 10 May 1909. However, her tombstone indicates she died in 1910. A person cannot die after their obituary has appeared!

Monday morning at 2:50 o'clock, Mrs. Elizabeth Reighard died a the home of her son, F. M. Reighard, aged 77 years, 7 months, and 14 days.
Friday Mrs. Reighard was in her usual good health and spent the day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Christ B. Stoner on Locust street. On returning in the evening she spoke of the enjoyments of the day and was in a bright frame of mind as one enjoying perfect health. At 12:30 on Saturday morning while in the night's rest the fatal stroke came suddenly and without warning, causing her to become unconscious in which condition she remained until death took her spirit away.
The deceased was a daughter of Joseph and Hannah Smeltzer and was born and raised in the vicinity of Martinsburg, and lived here until after her marriage to Henry Reighard. Later they moved to Waterside where she lived until about April 1, when she returned to Martinsburg to make her home here, coming with her son and family who at that time moved to this place.
She was one of a family of nine children, five daughters and four sons, of whom only one, Mrs. J. B. Burget of Page Station, is living. Her husband preceded her in death twenty-two years ago. She was the mother of five children, three of whom, one daughter and two sons, also passed to the eternal world. She is survived by two sons, Albert Reighard of Everett, and F. M. Reighard of this place.
Mrs. Reighard was a member of the Church of the Brethren. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday noon at the house by Rev. F. R. Zook of the Church of the Brethern, and Rev. H. D. Boughter of the Church of God. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the Hickory Bottom Reformed church.
