James W. Bridwell, who had been a resident of Grant fifty-eight years, died at his home there Saturday morning after a week’s illness of pneumonia and heart trouble. He had been in poor health there years.
Mr. Bridwell was born October 12, 1857 in Schuyler County, Missouri and came to Montgomery County in 1869. He was 69 years old at his death.
He was married to Bertha Greenfield on March 21, 1879 and to this union were born nine children, four of whom preceded the father in death. Those who with his wife survive are L. E. Jenkins, Minnesota; G. W. Dillworth, Minnesota; Joe, Chicago; Mrs. Frank Kilpatrick and Mrs. J. W. Ashbaugh, Grant. A brother F. T. Bridwell and a sister Mrs. John Gaskell both of Villisca, also survive.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon, Rev. A. Breeling, pastor of the Methodist Church of Grant, conducted the services. Interment was in the Grant Cemetery.
