Mr. Bridwell, who was a veteran of the World War, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bridewell, his death resulting from tuberculosis with which he had suffered for more than a year. He was born at Grant August 21, 1892 and was married to Emma Bergland of Red Oak in September 1920. To this union one daughter, Margaret, was born.
He enlisted for service in the war in July 1918, becoming a member of Company C 212th engineers and was stationed at Camp Devans, Mass. The funeral services was held in Grant Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock and in Red Oak at 3 o’clock and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak. Besides his parents, he leaves also two brothers, L. E. Bridewell of Jenkins, Minnesota, G. W. Bridewell of Moorehead, Kansas, and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Kilpatrick and Mrs. J. W. Ashbaugh of Grant, and Miss Zoe Bridewell of Des Moines, Iowa.
The death of Mrs. Smith resulted from a tumor.
She was born i 1864 and had been a resident of Grant since 1895. She leaves, besides her husband, four children. They are Fred C. and Rolla R. Smith, Mrs. Clark Givan, and Mrs. Nellie McClellan, all of Grant and vicinity.
The funeral was held in the Methodist Church in Grant, Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. C. F. Smith of Red Oak, in charge of the service. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery.
