Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant Methodist Church for Mrs. Jennie Ashbaugh, 70, who died Sunday evening, February 6, 1955 at a nursing home in elmwood, Nebraska, following a long illness. The Rev. Frank Dennis, pastor of the local church officiated. Mrs. Jack Taylor and Mrs. Gerald Taylor sang, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Spiker, at the piano. Pall bearers were D. J. Chalmers, N. H. Jones, G. W. Stinemates, A. C. Stinemates, L. V. Smith, and M. A. Foote. Interment in the Grant Cemetery.
Jennie Bridwell was born September 12, 1884 at Louisville, Nebraska, the daughter of James and Bertha Greenfield Bridwell. She came with her parents to Iowa and was for many years a resident of Grant. She was married March 29, 1906 to J. W. Ashbaugh wo preceded her in death July 3, 1930.
she is survived by one son, Darle of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, two grandchildren, one sister, Flora Kilpatrick, Deborah, and one brother, L. E. Bridwell of Red Oak, one aunt, Miss Cora Greenfield of Grant.
