Adeline Falcone, 86, of Syracuse, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her family. Born Adeline Schena in Syracuse in 1916, she was a graduate of North High School. After high school she attended Syracuse Secretarial School where she founded and played on the ladies basketball team. As young women, Adeline and her sisters sewed each other's wedding and bridesmaids gowns. In 1942 she married (the late) Dominick Falcone Jr. Longtime members of Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club, Adeline once had a hole-in-one on the 8th hole. The Falcones spent winters in Pompano Beach Florida, where Adeline golfed, and chaired the Ways and Means Committee of the Pompano Beach Garden Club. By sheer volume, Adeline and two of her sisters were the greatest contributors of handmade items to the garden club's fundraising events. For the past two years, Adeline resided happily at the Hearth at Greenpoint on James St. Survivors: Adeline is survived by her daughter and son- in-law, Anna Marie and Donald F. Williams III of CT, son and daughter-in-law, Dominick III and Lucille Falcone of Syracuse, and son Joseph Falcone of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Cathy Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, Donald F. Williams IV of Syracuse, Darcy Nealis and husband James of S. Lake Tahoe, NV, Dominick Falcone IV and wife Dina, David Falcone and Jason Falcone, all of Syracuse, Robin Falcone of Boston, Jenna MacLachlan and Husband David of Syracuse, and Lieutenant junior grade J. Christopher Falcone and wife Kim of Talofofo, Guam; her great-granddaughter, Sarah MacLachlan of Syracuse; three sisters, Mary Barnaba, Josephine DiMatteo, and Theresa Robar all of Syracuse; sisters- and brothers-in-law, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: will be Wednesday 8:15am at the Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 9:00am at Our Lady of Pompei Church. Calling hours will be Tuesday March 11, from 3 to 7pm. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, beside her late husband Dominick. Sweet Dreams, Nana
