Dominick Falcone Jr., 81, of 317 Wendell Terrace died Monday at a local nursing home. Mr. Falcone was chairman of the board of the Dominick Falcone Agency, Inc. He was associated for more than 50 years with the insurance agency, which was founded in 1920 by his father. He also was head of Falcone Real Estate until the mid-1950s. Mr. Falcone was a native of Syracuse. He was a graduate of North High School, where he played football and baseball, and continued playing both sports at the University of Buffalo. After returning to Syracuse, he played semi-professional baseball. Mr. Falcone also bowled more than 60 years and played golf at the Lake Shore Yacht & Country Club. Mr. Falcone was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church and was a founder of its Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society, the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club, the Lincoln Republican Club, the Independent Insurance Agents of Onondaga County and the New York State Insurance Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Adeline Schena; two sons, Dominick "Dick" III of Liverpool and Joseph D. of DeWitt; a daughter, Anna Marie Williams of Somers; two brothers, Joseph D. of Syracuse and Anthony T. of Clay; five sisters, Antoinette Mancuso, Mary Uva, Ann Marshall and Grace Lauretti, all of Syracuse, and Carmella Seville of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Farone & Son Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1500 Park St.
