David Earl Boyer, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 1992. He was born December 23, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Maud Ethel (Pontius) and Samuel Albert Boyer.

He had lived in Albuquerque since 1925, graduating from Albuquerque High in 1940. He joined the Carpenters Union 1319 and worked in the shipyards in Vancouver, WA, building ships during World War II. He was a carpenter for 5O years, specializing as a doorhanger.

He was an ordained Baptist Deacon and a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher of the Adult II class and a member of the choir. He was an avid reader and enjoyed gospel and western music.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Zella Lee (Hoffman); and their five children: Sandra Chavez (husband, Ted) of Estancia; Janice Tedford, Kent Boyer, Mark Boyer, and Catherine Kitterman (husband, Everett), all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren: Chris, Jeff and David Fairchild, Wayne Tedford, Nathan Boyer, Lisa Boyer and Karen Ann Kitterman; great-grandchildren, Pamela, Jonathan and Matthew Fairchild; and a foster daughter, Theresa Gonzales and her son, Octavio Vera; his brothers, Marvin (wife, Dixie) of Phoenix, AZ, and Carl (wife, Vi) of Ranger, TX; mother-in-law, Lela E. Hoffman; many nieces and nephews; and a loving church family.

Pallbearers were grandsons, nephews, and brothers-in-law: Chris, Jeff, David Fairchild, Wayne Tedford, Nathan Boyer, Octavio Vera, Richard Jenkins, Marvel Orona, George Butler, Dwight Hoffman, John Hoffman and Frank Jenkins.
