From Holland St. John - "Andrew was the son of Daniel and Martha (Brown) Lucas and was most likely named after his grandfather Andrew Lucas. He was the next to eldest of nine children and was born on January 11, 1879 at Colrain, Franklin County, Massachusetts on the family farm. When he was small he went with his parents to "Pumpkin Hollow" at Stockbridge, eight miles from Cazenovia, Madison County, New York. From there the family moved to Conquest, Cayuga County, New York. He was in the Battle of Erie, being an American soldier in the War of 1812 against England. After the War of 1812 he went to Erie County, New York where he spent the remainder of his days. He first married Clarinda Turner. The couple had four children: Uriah, Martha, Ervin and John (who died in June of 1904). Clarinda died when their son John was three years old. Andrew maried the second time to Abigail "Abbie" Russell. Little is known of either wives, their parents or their families. Andrew and Abbie had seven children: Samuel, Henry, Martha, Harriet, Ellen, Sophia and Filura. It appears that Andrew died before 1850 in Alden, Erie County, New York. In the 1850 census his wife Abbie is recorded living with three of their children and Andrew was not recorded. It is assumed he is buried at some cemetery located in Erie County, New York."
