This is my Great Grandfather on My Dad's Mother's side of the family. Obituary shows as buried in Calvary Cemetery in St Cloud, MN. Immigrated from West Prussia in 1881. He and Catherine had 16 children (6 in West Prussia, and 10 in Minnesota). The 6 children born in West Prussia, were born in Gross Zirkwitz which is in present day Poland. Unsure where Martin was born (perhaps in what was West Prussia)? The family farmed in Gilmanton, Benton County, MN and retired in St Cloud. The family went by Smith after immigrating and in thier final years they went by Schmidt again.
