We wish to announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother Sept. 2, 1981, Olive Annabel James (McLarty) who passed away suddenly at Arronglen Lodge, Qualicum Beach, BC.
Mrs. James was born in Riding Mountain, Manitoba, May 27, 1894. She took up a residence in Prince George and was graduate nurse (R.N.) of St. Pauls Hospital where she nursed through the 1918 flu epidemic. She led a very active life and taught Sunday School in various missions across Canada. Mothers greatest love was children.
Mrs. James was predeceased by her husband Frank James in 1978. They lived their retirement years in East Blackpool where they moved to in 1951.
Mother leaves in her passing her daughters, Earl and Mary Younggren of Calgary, Alta., Betty and Ian Davidson of Blackpool, BC.
Grandchildren, David Ian and wife Brenda of Clearwater, Alan John Wayne of RCMP Depot Division Regina, Saskatchewan, and Mary-Ann and Bob Behan of Blackpool, BC. Her only surviving family member Mrs Mabel Peterson of Prince George, BC. Her five great grandchildren, Steven, Jolene and Timothy Davidson and Bobby and Melanie Behan.
The funeral was held at Clearwater on September 5th, 1981 at 3:00 pm. McLeods Funeral Chapel were in charge of arrangements. by Betty Davidson. (The Times, Sept. 10, 1981, pg. 6)
