Son of John Hale, Jr. and his 2nd wife Martha Jane Wallis.

Henry and Mary were the parents of eight children:

4) Jessie Hale, b June 15, 1882
5) Claude Everette Hale, b Dec. 8, 1885

7) Fred Randall Hale, b Apr. 7, 1893
8) Gladys Estelle Hale, b Dec. 31, 1896

J. H. HALE DEAD.

James H. Hale, formerly of Greenwood County, Kansas, died at his home in Miami, Texas, Saturday, March 4, aged 68 years. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen and eight children, Paul Hale, J. Delbert Hale, Claude E. Hale, Ruth Alice Hale, of Miami, Texas; J.C. Hale, Kansas City, MO; Mrs. E.H. Lehman, Eureka, Kansas; Fred R. Hale, Texhoma, OK. One daughter, Mrs W.F. (Jessie) Turney, of Reese, Kansas, died two weeks ago.He was born near Milton, Iowa. At five years of age he came with his parents to Bates County, Missouri, where he grew to manhood. In 1873 he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Sells. They came to Greenwood County, Kansas, in 1883 and lived in this county until 1911 when they moved to Miami, Texas, which has since been their home. As a citizen Mr. Hale led a very active and useful life. In his home he was the ideal husband and father. He never hesitated to make a sacrifice for his family's advancement or happiness. Funeral service was held in Miami, Texas, Monday March 6, and was buried in the cemetery at that place.
