BAXTER Funeral services for Silas Denton "Sidy" Maddux, 82, of Baxter will be held Thursday, February 23, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Maddux died Tuesday, February 21, 1995, in Masters Health Care Center.
Son of the late George Henry and Verda Mae Pedigo Maddux, he was born in Putnam County on January 5, 1913.
A member of Baxter Church of Christ, Mr. Maddux was a construction worker and a farmer.
His family includes his wife, Loy Autrey Maddux of Baxter, one son, Harold D. Maddux of Mt. Juliet; two daughters, Ruth Lefwich and Verda Dell Warta, both of Baxter; two sisters, Josie Margaret Phillips and Reba Bain, both of Baxter; seven grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
Note: Loy Autrey was the 2nd wife of Silas Denton Maddux, his 1st wife was Arlie Medley (div). Silas Denton Maddux md 1st on the 1st of May 1937 to Arlie Medley, b. 14 November 1913 – d. 16 February 1986, d/o James "Jim" High Medley & Margaret Elizabeth Leftwich.
