Albert Gilsdorf, Sr., 64, was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio to Clement and Bernedette (Wasserman) Gilsdorf. He married Patricia Waltz on Dec. 27, 1952, in St. John's Catholic Church, Monroe, Mi.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from Jan. 3, 1951, to Nov. 2, 1954, at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He had been employed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resoures, retiring in 1983.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Patsy, are his mother, who now lives in Jacksonville, N.C; three sons, Clement, Albert Jr., and Carl; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Rhonda) Aubry, Charlotte Gilsdorf and Tana Gilsdorf, and Mrs. Paul (Victoria) Brooks; two brothers, Jim of Crestview, Florida, and Larry of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. James (Roseanne) Luey/Louy of Jacksonville, N.C; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in May, 1994. Services were at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroe, Mi. and burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe, Mi. Arrangements by Rupp Funeral Home.

Al was a good son, husband, father and a good friend. He is missed by all his family, dearly loved and thought of often.
