James Austin died Sunday, March 1 at Oxford Lafayette County Hospital. Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 3 at Houston Cemetery with the Rev. Cecil Pumphrey officiating.
The son of the late Hugh Austin and the late Mary Addie Boring Austin, he was retired. He was born in Chickasaw County.
Survivors include five sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers were Petty Childs, Auzie Myatt, Paul Baine, Mike Armour, Reuben Triplett and Fred McIntosh.
Memorial Funeral Home of Houston, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
