Isidore C. Endries, age 91, of Kiel, (St. Nazianz), died late Friday evening October 22, 2010 at Homestead Care Center, New Holstein.
Isidore was born on May 21, 1919 in St. Nazianz, son of the late Gerhard and Lena (Knier) Endries.
He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1940 until 1944.
On June 7, 1947, he married the former Marion Danes in Charlestown. She preceded him in death on November 9, 1998.
Isidore was a lifelong resident of St. Nazianz. Isidore established Hidden Acres Fur Farm in St. Nazianz, after 65 years of employment he turned over the business to his family. After retirement Isidore enjoyed spending his time creating over 75 toy teams of horses and wagons. He also removed disabled and deceased livestock from various local farmers for many years. Isidore was a member of the American Legion Post #477 of St. Nazianz and a longtime member of the Kettle Moraine Mink Breeders Association.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Gloria Endries, Charles and Evelyne Endries, both of St. Nazianz; one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Robert Lienhard, Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Peter Endries, St. Nazianz, Teresa and Tony Prus, Fond du Lac, Matthew Endries, St. Nazianz, Eric and Amber Endries, St. Nazianz, Amanda Endries, Cleveland, Ryan Lienhard, Sheboygan; three great- grandchildren; Wyatt and Arah Endries, and Gregory Prus; four sisters-in-law; Bernice Danes, Chilton, Evelyn Ortlieb, Kiel, Caroline Alfson, Valders, Violet Jelic, Milwaukee. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Isidore was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jerome Endries, Ben and Grace Endries, Gary and Rita Endries; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Veronica and Roland Bushman, Margaret and Tony Schwartz, Del and Tony Endreas; two sisters-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bender, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Harder; three brothers-in-law, Herman Danes, Alfred Ortlieb, Hubby Alfson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Michael Bigley with burial to follow at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery, St. Nazianz.
