The telegraph brings news of the death of Judge Samuel S. Spring, of Cattaraugus County, NY. He died at Duluth, Minn., on Sunday, aged fifty-two years. For some time past he has been afflicted with cancer in the stomach, and went to Duluth in hopes that a change of air might be beneficial to him. He was a respected lawyer, distinguished alike for his integrity and ability, and a large circle of professional and other
acquaintances will mourn his death.

Obituary.
Died, on Saturday, the 17th inst. at Duluth, Minnesota, Hon. Samuel S. Spring of Franklinville, Cattaraugus County, NY and County Judge of that County. Judge Spring was about fifty-two years of age, and when he expired had about one year more to serve as judge. He was an able lawyer, and possessed such distinguished integrity as well as ability, that he enjoyed the confidence and respect of his fellow citizens in an eminent degree. For some time his health has been poor; he had been afflicted with that painful disease, cancer in the stomach, as it is supposed, and with some personal friends had gone out to Duluth, Minn., in hopes to obtain benefit from the pure air of the Lake Superior county. Dr. Van Aernam was telegraphed to come to Duluth, as Judge Spring was quite low, and the Doctor started on Saturday, and while on the cars received another dispatch saying that Judge Spring had expired. Not only the people of Cattaraugus County will sympathize with the bereaved family of the deceased, but a very large circle of acquaintances, professional and otherwise, throughout the State will mourn his untimely death.
